Brooke and Cantrell, two shady speculators from Tucson, in order to get rid of Tex, ally themselves with the governor of the state of Chihuahua, Zamora, and with his hired ruffian, the villainous Colonel Olivera, promising them arms to conquer the Sonora. Willer is lured into a trap by a false message from Montales, accused of spying and murder and thrown into jail! The final objective of the conspirators (among whom the vindictive General Velasco, the brains behind an old failed conspiracy) is to push Montales to help his friend escape, to then be able to eliminate him with the approval of the law!
