Besieged on the Sacred Mountain with the freed squaws, Tex awaits reinforcements and resists the diabolical Hualpai attacks. The beautiful Hanaba dies heroically and when the Navajos rush to the scene, all that remains of the encampment set up by the cruel Indians is a few smoking embers. Some time after, Tex and Carson agree to help the Pinkerton agent Rick Anders trace Tom Foster, who was kidnapped twenty years earlier by the Indians, when he was just a child: now his younger brother wants to get his hands on the inheritance, but first has to make sure Tom really is dead...
