Having pacified the northern tribes, Tex and Kit Willer attack the Great King’s den, a fortified castle in the middle of a lake. Kit is captured and, to free him, Tex assails the castle at the head of an Indian army. Abandoned by everyone, the mad Black Leopard kills himself, blowing up his den. Much further south, in Moon Valley, the miners of Tex’s friend, Ben Rufus, are terrorized by a horrible humanoid creature: the monster, alluring the Apaches with a sort of lyophilized alcohol, exploits them to mine deadly green radioactive rocks from the bowels of the earth!
