The Uta von Ballenstedt statue, which inspired the Grimhilde character, disappeared from the Naumburg Cathedral in Germany. Martin and Java, with help from Pastor Lothar Hoffmann, start searching for the sculpture: whoever stole it is leaving a trail of death behind. Marlene Roth, a member of a Saxon church foundation, joins the Detective of the Impossible, although she doubts him. They find out they’re dealing with Medusa, but as soon as they realize the creature’s connection with Eugen Brieffreund, a solitary sculptor, a second Gorgon emerges…
