A former Confederate Army captain organizes an assault on a train believed to be carrying a general. Among those involved are several escapees from the Mexican penitentiary of Ciudad Juarez. The goal is to force President Grant to grant independence to the Southern states. It’s on that very train that we find Ken Parker, engaged in conversation with a peculiar little man named Oake Barnum.
