Years earlier, on the trail of the Band of the Innocents that terrorized Montana, counting on numerous and beyond suspicion informers, Carson had made friends with Lena, the woman of Sheriff Ray Clemmons of Bannock and his partner in a mine. When he was unmasked as the leader of the criminals, Clemmons ran away, betraying his own partners, while in town the vigilantes were making a clean sweep of the gang’s supporters. Today Ray is in Bannock again, at his old mine, where the loot had remained buried, and the survivors of the Band of the Innocents want revenge!
