An armed man breaks into Leo Baxter's office and tries to extort an information from the private eye at gunpoint: "Where did you hide Cora Brickford?!". When menaces leave place to action, Leo protects himself, killing the mysterious attacker. Julia and the police go to the crime scene, but are not able to identify the man, whose fingerprints have been scraped off. In order to know the reason for that intrusion, Leo tries to retrace some recent events and remembers about a strange box that a former girlfriend of his, Marsha Livingstone – who have since vanished – gave him for safekeeping...
