A body is fished out of the Hudson – the corpse of a psychiatrist who’d been missing for nine months. The discovery sheds new light on the events linked to the man’s disappearance. Everyone, first and foremost his wife, had assumed the doctor had run off with his young patient (and lover) Mary Rose, a rich heiress; even the girl’s relatives thought so too. The psychiatrist’s death dates back to the time of his disappearance, which means that throughout this prolonged period Mary Rose wasn’t with him. So where has she ended up?
