The charming village called Ashwood is the quintessential English country retreat. When its parish begins being haunted by the ghost of the former Anglican vicar, the two spirit-hunters, Maud Nightingale and Nicole Simmons go there for a surveillance trip, with their canine assistant, Thor. But Harlan and Stuart, called for help by the ladies, find them to have vanished into thin air along with Thor and the new vicar, while the people of Ashwood are seemingly taking this fact in their stride. Which dark mystery is hidden behind the idylliac face of this picturesque village? Why there is no woman around, in the streets of Ashwood? And what's the meaning of the verdant face of the “green man”, carved on the columns of the church?
